Calgary i/ˈkælɡᵊri/ is a city in the province of Alberta, Canada. It is situated at the confluence of the Bow River and the Elbow River in the south of the province, in an area of foothills and prairie, about 80 km (50 mi) east of the front ranges of the Canadian Rockies. In the 2011 census, the City of Calgary had a population of 1,096,833 and a metropolitan population of 1,214,839, making it the largest city in Alberta, and the third-largest municipality and fifth-largest census metropolitan area (CMA) in Canada.
The economy of Calgary includes activity in the energy, financial services, film and television, transportation and logistics, technology, manufacturing, aerospace, health and wellness, retail, and tourism sectors. The Calgary CMA is home to the second-highest number of corporate head offices in Canada among the country's 800 largest corporations.
Calgary anchors the south end of what Statistics Canada defines as the "Calgary–Edmonton Corridor".
In 1988, Calgary became the first Canadian city to host the Olympic Winter Games.
A farmers' market (also farmers market) is a physical retail market featuring foods sold directly by farmers to consumers. Farmers' markets typically consist of booths, tables or stands, outdoors or indoors, where farmers sell fruits, vegetables, meats, and sometimes prepared foods and beverages. They are distinguished from public markets, which are generally housed in permanent structures, open year-round, and offer a variety of non-farmer/producer vendors, packaged foods and non-food products.
Farmers' markets exist worldwide and reflect their local culture and economy. Their size ranges from a few stalls to several city blocks. In some cultures, live animals, imported delicacies unavailable locally, and personal goods and crafts are sold.
The current concept of a farmers' market is similar to past concepts, but different in relation to other forms – as aspects of consumer retailing, overall, continue to shift over time. Similar forms existed before the Industrial age but, were often part of broader markets, where suppliers of food and other goods gathered to retail their wares. Trading posts began a shift toward retailers who sold others' products more than their own. General stores and grocery stores continued that specialization trend in retailing, optimizing the consumer experience, while abstracting it further from production and production's growing complexities.
Fun Farm was an early Australian television series television. Debuted 29 October 1956, the series aired live on Sydney station TCN-9. Along with the likes of Fun Fair (HSV-7),The Judy Jack Show (HSV-7), Happy Show (GTV-9), Children's TV Club (ABC) and Captain Fortune Show (ATN-7), it represented an early example of Australian-produced children's television programming. Fun Farm ended in April 1957, at which point TCN-9 began another locally produced children series, Desmond and the Channel 9-Pins.
The series was aimed at children from ages four to twelve, compered and produced by Pat Mondel, with her receiving more than 3000 letters from children within the first few weeks of the program.
It is not known if the show was ever kinescoped.
A farm is an area of land that is devoted primarily to agricultural processes with the primary objective of producing food and other crops; it is the basic facility in food production. The name is used for specialised units such as arable farms, vegetable farms, fruit farms, dairy, pig and poultry farms, and land used for the production of natural fibres, biofuel and other commodities. It includes ranches, feedlots, orchards, plantations and estates, smallholdings and hobby farms, and includes the farmhouse and agricultural buildings as well as the land. In modern times the term has been extended so as to include such industrial operations as wind farms and fish farms, both of which can operate on land or sea.
Farming originated independently in different parts of the world as hunter gatherer societies transitioned to food production rather than food capture. It may have started about 12,000 years ago with the domestication of livestock in the Fertile Crescent in western Asia, soon to be followed by the cultivation of crops. Modern units tend to specialise in the crops or livestock best suited to the region, with their finished products being sold for the retail market or for further processing, with farm products being traded around the world.

Canada (i/ˈkænədə/; French: [ka.na.da]) is a country in the northern part of North America. Its ten provinces and three territories extend from the Atlantic to the Pacific and northward into the Arctic Ocean, covering 9.98 million square kilometres (3.85 million square miles), making it the world's second-largest country by total area and the fourth-largest country by land area. Canada's border with the United States is the world's longest land border. Canada is sparsely populated, the majority of its land territory being dominated by forest and tundra and the Rocky Mountains; about four-fifths of the country's population of 35 million people live near the southern border. The majority of Canada has a cold or severely cold winter climate, but southerly areas are warm in summer.
The land now called Canada has been inhabited for millennia by various Aboriginal peoples. Beginning in the 15th century, British and French colonies were established on the Atlantic coast, with the first establishment of a region called "Canada" occurring in 1537. As a consequence of various conflicts, the United Kingdom gained and lost territories within British North America until left, in the late 18th century, with what mostly geographically comprises Canada today. Pursuant to the British North America Act, on July 1, 1867, the colonies of Canada, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia joined to form the autonomous federal Dominion of Canada. This began an accretion of provinces and territories to the self-governing Dominion to the present ten provinces and three territories forming modern Canada. In 1931, Canada achieved near total independence from the United Kingdom with the Statute of Westminster 1931, and full sovereignty was attained when the Canada Act 1982 removed the last remaining ties of legal dependence on the British parliament.

In mid August I had a 5 day trip to Calgary Alberta. We spent the trip exploring the city, visiting the Rockys and meeting new people. The trip started out a little rough with little sleep and a 5 hour flight delay. Once we arrived we did a day trip to Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, & Banff. The main purpose of the trip was to attend Mark and Ashleys wedding, which was beautiful. It was such a wonderful 5 days and I fell in love with Alberta. _________ Most Recent Main Channel Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBS0h-F4B0s&t=12s Latest Vlog: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3sApJssfw8 _________ SOCIALS // Twitter: https://twitter.com/ClassicKatieYT // Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/classickatieyt // Vlog Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCA-w... // Pinterest: http://pint...
https://www.expedia.com/Vancouver.d178315.Destination-Travel-Guides Vancouver’s breezes carry the scents of nature and aromas of all the urban delights you’d expect from a city regularly voted, “the Worlds most livable”. The city takes its name from the British navigator who landed here in 1792. The original settlement was called “Gastown”, in honor of Gassy Jack, who built the city’s first tavern. Gassy Jack and his makeshift pub may be long gone, but in the historic neighborhood of Gastown, his spirit lingers on. Vancouver’s early history continues at Waterfront Station, the western terminus of the Canadian Pacific Railway. The railway’s construction brought Chinese workers by the thousands, whose descendants have enriched Vancouver ever since. Experience this interweaving of cultu...

2017 Railway Days at Heritage Park in Calgary. ALCo #2023 had just come out of an overhaul and a repaint, so she is looking glorious! Kind of wish they'd painted with a Tuscan red panel on the tender and cab sides though. I elected to cut out the turntable demo, due to the mechanical issues they were having with the turntable, and I didn't get any footage of model layouts Also included is the operation of the railway steam crane. That crane has been at the park as long as I can remember, and has finally been restored to operating condition.

The following information is from a newspaper article in the summer of 1953 - likely Canandaigua's 'Daily Messenger'. The article started with: "Mr. and Mrs. Everett Blazey of the Rochester Road and members of the family are the central characters in a 16mm color film being made on the Blazey farm for the Ford Motor Company. This film entitled "The American Farmer" is being made by MPO Productions of New York for inclusion in the Ford Motor Company's series, "Americans at Home".
